Our tour begins 12,000 years ago when great glaciers receded and left behind rich, fertile soil along the eastern shore of Lake Erie. The moderating influences of the lake, long hours of summer sunlight and shale soil provide the perfect micro-climate for wine production.

Johnson Estate Winery is New York's oldest Estate Winery, and home of award winning Vinifera, American Heirloom, and premium Icewines. Comfortable and friendly surroundings for a rustic tasting experience.

Taste history in the underground stone cavern built in the 1860’s at the South Shore Wine Company, by Mazza Vineyards. The Mazzas chose the Lake Erie Region for it's cool offshore breezes, sandy soil and the plateau-like topography, which creates an ideal growing condition for classic wine grapes and European hybrids. While 'lake effect' is sometimes associated with harsh winter snows, the same effect produces a moderating climate in the spring and fall.

Noble Winery is a A beautiful vista to enjoy an award winning Seyval Blanc. Situated within a 189 acre grape farm which has been owned and operated by Pete Noble since 1979, this winery offers a spectacular view of the vineyards, and of Lake Erie.
